Actions
I'm wasting a morning playing with some Photoshop actions. I love this one, I could "70's" all my photos. Just to be fair, because that's how we roll at our house, everyone got a 70's make-over. Back in the 70's...

I heard angels!
I MADE the family go to the park for a photoshoot today. I told them what colours to wear, which kind of worked out. I was a bit bossy, and a bit grumpy before we even left the house. I did not have high hopes.
First they had to play on the playground.
20 yr. olds like to play on the swings too.
And climb on the monkey bars.
There were lots of leaves left on the trees and on the ground. They weren't all slimey like the ones at our house.
We stopped to take some shots on this grassy noll. Eeewww...kissing.

Both smiling, but it's a good thing we only have two kids, I couldn't imagine trying to get more than that to look at the camera at the same time.

No family outing is complete without someone getting put in a head lock.

Love this fence.
Emily is practicing her "I'm going to squeesh your head". The whole freaking time at the park the kids were quoting Monty Python. I'm sure that couple walking near us thought we were insane. Me telling them to stand up in that field, them talking in their bad British accents. But the best part was their version of the school of funny walks skit.
This is probably the one that will replace the not so stellar school photo of 2009.
Thoughtful Emily or Emily Trying not to Laugh
Confused Kerry.

Emily right before my 'prop-make'em laugh' guy did this.

And then he just kept doing it, I'd be taking a picture and a ball of leaves would come flying in.
I think the background looks a bit Sears Portrait studio-ish.
All-in-all, I think it was a pretty successfull afternoon. And it didn't take forever, and it only rained a tiny bit. Then we went to the mall so I could pay the little jerks in snacks. They should pay me for making them look like happy kids instead of the grumps they really are.

And that's where the angels come in. Love it!

Super Cute!

How cute is this? It's a trifold album. I can't take the credit for it, I got it from Andrea's site. She's so creative. That's the cover.
This after you open the 2 front flaps.

I love my dog, yes I do!
I love my dog, yes, I do!
It's a little song that T. and Z. sing when picking up dog poop. It's what I sing every minute of the day. Like today....
I can hear Sally cheering Linus on, from below, always ready to catch the plums that his big head knocks out of the tree.

Go Linus! Go Linus!
You can do it!
You can do it!
Jump higher!
Jump higher!
And he did jump higher!
Isn't it amazing what a little cheering on from your friends can do?
Pumpkins
You know your kids are growing up when they don't care to go with you to the pumpkin patch. Maybe it was the fact that I said I wanted to take pictures of them at the pumpkin patch. I took my mom instead. She said 'no pictures' too. Party poopers.
So we wanted a few bigger pumpkins but when you leave the pumpkin picking to two days before Halloween, you don't get to choose. And the big ones started rotting faster too, so it was a stinky mushy mess at the patch.
Emily carved a Pikachu after having a minor tantrum, yes, 13 yr. olds do that too, and then she got up and acted like it had never happened and started carving her pumpkins. Shaun didn't get to carve with us, he had made other plans but he didn't seem too happy about missing our fun and games.
Emily's other pumpkin took the simple road. Kerry's is just plain strange. I never want to know what is going on in that guy's head.

See, another weird one by Kerry.
This is mine. It's Jack Skellington. He's so cute. He's happy, not freaky. I love him. Kerry threw him in the garden. I'm not impressed.

I think my few days of hunching over the sewing machine messed up my back and now my neck is out. I am off to the chiropractor, but I'm walking there, I don't think I can safely do shoulder checks right now.

Photo Heavy Weekend
Kerry's mom wants a new family picture of us. This is as good as it gets, in life and in photo taking in our family. That's it, it falls apart after this. And I realize that Emily might be taller than I am. Drat!

See, told you. And yes, Shaun's pants have soccer balls and basket balls on them. I told him to get dressed, I told him that I'd probably only shoot from the waist up. I also told him it would only take a minute for him to put jeans on, but no, he couldn't do it.
All I wanted was for them to stand together, near each other.
But no, I might as well have asked them to hold hands.
That's the best one, Shaun, the tree, and Emily. No wonder I have so many pictures of the dogs!
I sometimes wonder where my kids get the goofy camera behaviour from. And then I look at the pictures I took of my 60 yr. old Dad and Kerry mountain biking and I know exactly where they get it from.
The guys and their bikes. Taken with my new lens.
Same shot, zoomed in. Love the colours and the sharpness. That's Kerry on the left. Now he says "I should have taken off my goggles". It makes him look mysterious. Oh, jeez, I just noticed the 2 goofs have the exact same shirt on!
Again, proof of where the goofy kids come from.

That's my Dad, did I mention he's 60 years old? My poor mom!
